Day 4
We were off to Bhimtal today. Early morning breakfast, photo sessions and after thanking the incredible staff, we were on our way. The morning sun filtering through the pine forests, was a sight to see.

We were welcomed with rhododendron juice at Freddy's bungalow in Bhimtal. This was also a century old wooden bungalow and we were ready to freeze to death here. In summers this place would be ideal, but in winter it was... BRRRRRR.....

We walked around the property and rooms, admiring the butterfly and insect collections and of course the pretty, cosy corners.
This holiday was all about relaxing and that's what we did. Ate delicious meals and sat by the bonfire. We had some intense, deep conversations on our flaws and strengths. This is the best part of being with friends, the freedom to be ourselves.

Day 5
Today was our walk to Sattal lake! The whole motley crew walked along with our hotel staff. This was a 9km long, 2 hours walk.

We walked through old post offices, an ashram, some other smaller lakes and even spotted a bunch of photographers spotting an owl!

The walk was really fun and easy. Once we reached, the kids had a great time zorbing, kayaking and zip lining. The adults joined in the kayaking too and we had some hilarious moments of competition.

We did some fun photo shoots!

Post the activities, the staff had brought us a picnic lunch by the lake. This was such a wonderful experience. We all felt like kids out on a school excursion. We had chicken and vegetarian biryani and made sure we picked up all the trash after us.

Back at our stay, this was our last night and we decided the kids needed to watch some movies of our generation! We played Khabhi Khushi Khabhi Gum and laughed throughout. The kids couldn't understand why all that was happening in the movie!
Day 6
We had booked a flight from Pantnagar as the train from Katgodham wasn't available. As we start driving towards Pantnagar, we get the news that our flight was cancelled. This happens quite often, as Pantnagar is a small airport and if there aren't enough passengers, they cancel the flight!
We drove directly down to Delhi to catch our flight and reach home on New year's eve, which was spent sleeping.
